It provides you the customer with an ideal opportunity to reduce the cost
of energy to you by following the below conservation tips:
Tips for electricity conservation at home
Tips for electricity conservation at Shops
and Business establishments
Tips for electricity conservation at home
- A tube light (36/40 watt) gives more light than a 60 or 100 watt
bulb and will consume 40 to 60% less power. Tube light with electronic
choke is even more energy efficient means of lighting USE DAYLIGHT AS
FAR AS POSSIBLE.
- Lighting devices like bulb, tube light, etc. consume energy according
to their capacities. Use appropriate lighting according to your requirement.
A so-called zero bulb uses 12 to 15 watt per hour. Compact Fluorescent
Lamps (CEL) are available in 5.7.9.11 watts capacities and they give
more light output.
- Instant geysers are considered to be more efficient than storage
type geysers. SOLAR WATER HEATERS OPERATE ON SOLAR ENERGY WHICH IS FREE
OF COST
- Allow refrigerated foodstuff to come to room temperature before heating
AND allow heated foodstuff to cool down to normal temperature before
placing it in the refrigerator.
- Put your home entertainment systems on a power bar and turn off the
bar when you are not using them. (Components without clocks and timers,
of course.)
- Unplug infrequently used TVs, as many continue to draw power even
when turned off
Tips for electricity conservation in industrial establishments
- Avoid excessive illumination. Please keep only as many fans and lights
on as you need.
- Do not use neon sign boards. Use only painted sign boards.
- Use energy saving compact fluorescent lamps for the illumination
of your shops, showrooms, or hotels.
- Try to switch on your room air conditioners and coolers at least
one hour late and switch off one hour early. Preferably, do not use
these heavy duty appliances.
- Use solar water heaters for hot water requirements of your hotels
and lodges.
- Consider energy-efficient computer systems and monitors when you
replace a system. Make sure you enable your computer’s energy-saving
features.
- Be sure to at least shut off the computer screen, as 60% of the power
used by a computer is used by the monitor! (The other 40% is used to
keep your hard drive spinning and to power the electronics.)
